Search Tips

General Search Tip
Search for web pages and/or literature by typing keywords into the search box.

Searching by Product Name
Enter names of Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex products with a space between the prefix and product number (for example, DL 211).

Searching for Literature
Search for Material Safety Data Sheets, Technical Data Sheets and/or Product/Application Brochures by entering a product name in the search box. You can then narrow your search by selecting categories of information you are looking for.

Searching the Web Site

Quotation Marks (" ")
Search for a phrase by typing the phrase in double quotes.

Example – type "Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex" to find that exact phrase.

And
Search for two or more words at once by using and.

Example – type Dow and Reichhold to find documents that have both the word Dow and the word Reichhold anywhere in them.

Near
Search for words that are close to each other by using near. When you use near, the closer together the words are, the higher the rank of the page, and the higher it appears in the list of search results.

Example – type Dow near Reichhold to match documents where the word Dow is within 50 words of the word Reichhold.

Or
Search for synonyms or similar words by using or. Note that if you don't use or and search using multiple words, the words are treated as a phrase.

Example – type machine or equipment to find the word machine or the word equipment, but not necessarily both.

And Not
Limit your search by using and not to exclude words.

Example – type Dow and not Reichhold "" to find all instances of Dow, as long as Dow is not followed by the word Reichhold.

Single Asterisk (*)
Search for words that begin with the same letters by using a single asterisk(*)

Example – type print* to find print, printing, printer, printed, and so on.

Double Asterisk (**)
Search for words based on the same stem by using a double asterisk(**)

Example – type fly** to find flying, flown, flew, and so on.

Further Hints
You can use parentheses to nest expressions within a query. The expressions within the parentheses are evaluated before the rest of the query. You may search for any word except for those in the exception list (for English, this includes a, an, and, as, and other common words). Punctuation marks such as the period (.), colon (:), semicolon (;), and comma (,) are ignored during a search.
