Research Triangle Park, N.C. – July 31, 2008 –Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex has announced a price increase of US$0.06/wet pound for all styrene butadiene (SB) specialty latex products sold in North America, and an increase of US$0.03/wet pound for all other latexes with the exception of products sold for glove manufacturing. A separate announcement has been made on global price adjustments for nitrile latexes used in glove manufacturing. The increase will be effective on August 8, 2008, and is in addition to all recently announced increases.
"Strong global demand for butadiene coupled with reduced supply have resulted in raw material costs increases that we expect to continue throughout 2008,” said Dave Gartshore, vice president for global sales for the company. “As a company we remain committed to maintaining reasonable margins that allow us to continue to invest in product technology and manufacturing resources to help meet customer needs."
