Research Triangle Park, North Carolina – May 1, 2007 – Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex has announced a price increase of from five to seven percent (5-7%) for all of the specialty latex products in the company’s line. The increase will be effective on June 1, 2007 and will be applied to all products sold in North America. In a separate announcement the company has also increased the price for synthetic latexes sold for glove manufacturing globally.
The company cited the continuing escalation in the cost of key raw materials, as well as energy and transportation, as the reasons for the price increase.
“As we look at projections for key raw materials, we do not see any significant lessening of the volatility in the market,” said Dave Gartshore, vice president for global sales for the company. “As a company we remain committed to maintaining reasonable margins that allow us to continue to invest in product technology and manufacturing resources to help meet customer needs.”
Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex LLC is a 50/50 joint venture of The Dow Chemical Company and Reichhold, Inc. The joint venture is the world’s largest producer of specialty latex. The company is headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, U.S.A.
